Returning players can easily register online.

It is recommended that you use either the Firefox browser or the Chrome browser. If you use the same Team Snap account that you used last year for registration, everything should populate automatically. If not, you will need your Hockey Canada ID from your HCR 3.0 Spordle Account. Visit the log in page.

First Time Player Registrations

Brand new to hockey?

We would love to have you join our St. Matthew hockey family. In order to play hockey in Canada, each player needs to have a Hockey Canada ID. In order to get that, we need to prove residency and age. This is why we ask all families for:

1 piece of identification for each player (e.g. birth certificate, ABHC card, passport)
1 piece of mail for address verification (utility bill). Confidential details can be blacked out, we just need to see proof of address.

If you are ready to sign you child up for hockey, please contact the St. Matthew Registrar at registrar@stmatthewhockey.com and she’ll walk you through the process. You will also need to complete the Respect in Sport (RIS) Course. The RIS Program is an online certification program designed to ensure that hockey is fun and safe for all of our participants. You will also need to create a profile and add your child. Upon completion of the program, you will be given a certificate with a number and expiry date. This information is required for registration. The program itself takes about an hour to complete and it costs $12. You only have to do this every 4 years.

New Recreational Hockey League

Hockey Edmonton would like to announce the new EFHL Recreational Hockey League! This league will function under the EFHL banner; include U9 (Novice), U11 (Atom), U13 (Peewee), U15 (Bantam), U18 (Midget) and U21 (Junior) age categories; and have teams representing our Districts, Operating Areas, and Interlock MHAs.

This new league is ideal for those looking for a lower cost, lower commitment, non-body checking alternative to mainstream hockey.

Transfer Players

KC Transfer

If you want to transfer to St. Matthew Hockey Club, we would love to have you! If you currently play with one of our KC sister parishes (The Knights, St. Charles, Southwest KC or KC West), please contact our Registrar and she will initiate the transfer. Any KC House player can transfer to another KC Parish, no matter what year you are born.

Different MHA Transfer

If you have been playing with a different Minor Hockey Association, you will need to fill out the Parent Declaration form online:

Important Tips for Completing the Parent Declaration Form:

- Players are not eligible for a transfer if they have registered for their second year of U9. To encourage girls to continue playing, they have the mobility to transfer at any division.

- Where it says Minor Hockey Association Submission, please enter the St. Matthew registrar email address.

- The form does require that both parent/guardian names are provided. In single parent situations, where one parent is not involved, the primary parent can either enter their name twice or write N/A in the second name fields.

- The form asks if there is a custody arrangement in place for the player. If you select yes, you must acknowledge conditions 5 and 6 and both parent/guardian names must be provided.

- For the Current Address section, with the selection required for “Hereby declare”, choose the selection that best describes your family dynamic/situation.

- If you moved more than 3 years ago, you are not required to complete the Former Address section.

- You need to upload a utility bill for address verification.
